-Weather:
In general Mai Chau experiences pretty good weather throughout the year. It rains less and the humidity in lower than other Northern Vietnam cites. The finest weather of the year extends from September till May and temperatures range from 15°C to 30°C. It can be quite cold during winter from November till end of February. The average temperature is 18°C. The monsoon prevails from June till September with stronger breezes and higher humidity with limited rainfall. Temperatures are warmer during this time, varying between 25°C to 35°C.

-Currency and Bank :
The national currency of Vietnam is Dong. Most prices are quoted in Vietnam Dongs but US Dollars are widely accepted. There is a local bank with limited services, you can not use your ATM here and Mai Chau Lodge is the only place that accepts payment by Visa card and Master card.
-Dining :
Being a remote hill tribe valley, there are limited choices for dining. Mai Chau Lodge is the only place offering quality local and international cuisine coupled with great selection of drinks.
Internet :
Internet service is available at Mai Chau Lodge. You can also get connected to the world by looking into some small shops in Mai Chau Town.
-Power and water
Electrical current in Mai Chau is 220 volts. Power cut can be quite regular. Water in Mai Chau is mostly from the well and you are advised to drink bottled water.
